Buffalo Divorce Attorney Discusses Grandparents’ Rights in Separation Cases

As an experienced Buffalo Divorce Attorney, clients often ask me about grandparents’ rights in a separation case. In a divorce proceeding there are often times when there are people involved other than the husband, the wife, and the children that really have a vested interest emotionally in the children; grandparents.
Grandparent’s rights are very limited in New York State, particularly when you have a mother and father, who are engaged in the divorce proceeding itself. As a Buffalo Divorce Attorney, I would say that it is very unlikely that the court is going to allow for separate access rights for either the maternal or the paternal grandparents if they can’t even work that out with their own daughter or son.
