What Happens if I Refuse to Take the Breathalyzer Test?
The repercussions of refusing to take a breathalyzer test when you are pulled over by a police officer will be an automatic suspension of your license for a one-year period of time. There’s also a fine of $500 on a first offense, and $750 on a second offense. If you refuse to take the breathalyzer test, your license will be taken away from you immediately, even before a trial or a plea is taken in open court.
