What if an Officer Asks for my Phone when Being Pulled Over?
If you’re texting while driving a vehicle and you’re pulled over, the officer may ask to see your telephone. He’s entitled to see your cell phone. He’s entitled to even keep your cell phone, if he chooses to do so. It’s my recommendation to always comply with a reasonable request that a police officer makes, and try not to make much of a fuss about it.
